Warm-up:
Part 1
We are going to warm-up by creating our own personal alphabet.
What does that mean?
It will not be a different style or embellishment of the A B C's that we are familiar with in our English language. Think of characters, symbols or markings that are personal to you.
It might be a secret code or random markings that we create. It might be the characters in an ancient language, perhaps from our ancestors.
Part 2
Draw some symbols, markings, patterns that you often use in your drawings and artwork. We all have patterns, markings, line qualities that we repeat and that are specific to our work.
Project:
We will continue to develop a final piece, utilizing what we learned in the warm up and the visual inspiration we have received from the artist Victor Ekpuk.
