Warm-up + Project
Sonnhild uses assorted shapes and builds her patterns often on paper before the actual textile designs are completed.
We will begin playing with shapes, and patterns. I am suggesting an assortment of colored papers to use to create your shapes and eventually build your original patterns. You may want to use stencils and or punches to create uniformity. You may also decide to create your own template of original shapes.
We will assemble a variety of shapes and begin playing with different patterns and ideas.
The warm-up time may be used to create your stencils, cut and punch out various shapes for your final project.
An alternative option to the paper cut-outs may be using your stencils to create your pattern or design and finish in another medium such as paint, colored pencils, or markers.
