Norman Bluhm (March 28, 1921 – February 3, 1999), was an American painter classified as an abstract expressionist, and as an action painter.
This is a two week project.
Warm-up + Project:
Norman Bluhm’s style snd approach to his paintings changed many times during his career. I am particularly drawn to and inspired by his colorful canvases that remind me of “Rorschach Test” images.
Let’s play with making mirror images in color to develop a series of ideas to use directly on a finished piece.
We may want to cut these, use as a collage and, or add other markings (drawing or painting) to complete the project.
Materials:
- Paint of any kind
- Wet marking materials that will allow an application to a substrate and spread creating a mirror image
- Drawing and other marking materials may be used in add
