June Leaf is an American artist known for her abstract allegorical paintings and drawings; she also works in modernist kinetic sculpture. She is based in New York City and Mabou, Nova Scotia.
Warm-up + Project
I am drawn to Leaf’s pen and ink drawings and her richly painted abstract paintings. Her work is imaginative, mystical, and sometimes disturbing, that draw the viewer in but are not necessarily understood.
This week, let us consider creating a self portrait or perhaps creating a visual representation of an everyday experience.
