Jonas Wood born 1977 in Boston, Massachusetts is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles.
Warm-up + Project:
Jonas Wood is prolific, and intensely driven in his process and ideas for artmaking.
His themes include portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and interior scenes, which he declares are all ideas from personal experiences. For our project this week we will use a simple flower image. Please choose an image from the link below:
You may choose more than one image and for your convenience print an image to reference.

Our focus will be on Wood’s style and technique using flat design, repeated patterns for textures, and creating paintings.
Think Andy Warhol meets Matisse. Whatever image you decide to focus on for your project we will get started with the preliminary exploration during our warm-up time and complete one piece by the end of class.
