“My goal is to always leave others feeling inspired and empowered to be their best creative and authentic selves. I hope that my expression of Art leaves a lasting impression on the people I come in contact with in a way that ignites their soul.”
Warm-up + Project
I love the distorted, oversized figures in Courtney Simone's paintings.
Painting small heads on bodies that fill the canvas, enhanced with color and bold patterns, offers the viewer an interesting perspective.
It led me to consider the idea of a tiny head/face resting on a large body. Perhaps the images were more about "Being", the importance of the entirety of a person.
What is your "Being." Your essence? Perhaps not focused so much on how you look but what you might stand for or what is important to you. How do you take up space?
Just an idea to consider this week. You may also choose to use an object or even landscape drawn with a different perspective or view.
Looking forward to seeing how everyone responds to this week's artist!
